Parisian Burger Brand Dumbo Is Coming to London

Think smashburgers are passé these days? One of Europe’s OG joints disagrees

Founded by Charles Ganem and Samuel Nataf in Pigalle in 2019, Dumbo quickly won over Parisians with its take on the smashburger and its stripped-back aesthetic. Having grown to four sites in Paris, Charles and Samuel are going international and opening location number five in Shoreditch in June.

Like its Parisian sisters, the London Dumbo will have the same understated, functional design and simple menu of cheeseburgers (made with HG Walter meat) and veggie burgers made with artisan potato brioche buns, American cheese, onions and pickles; french fries; and chicken nuggets. The whole vibe isn’t dissimilar to Supernova, which went viral when it launched in Soho, so it’ll be interesting to see how Dumbo goes down.

The owners are optimistic, with co-founder Charles Ganem saying: “Our philosophy has always been simple: great ingredients, no fuss, and food that brings people together. We’re excited to join the London food scene, especially at a time when smashburgers are experiencing such incredible momentum in the city.”
