The new spot has just opened on Mare Street
Bar 161 on Mare Street is no more as new spot Paper Tiger has taken its place, with handmade dumplings and artisanal cocktails in tow. After a soft launch at the end of October and a Halloween event, which included pumpkin dumplings, Sichuan candy apples, Blood Moon Negronis and a costume competition, the bar is officially open for business.
Whether you go for a pint or a classic cocktail, there are some great drinking snacks on offer, including:
- prawn crackers with sweet chilli sauce
- smashed cucumber salad
- veggie spring rolls with sweet chilli sauce
- egg & chive dumplings
- prawn, mushroom & courgette dumplings
With Facing Heaven a few doors down and new spot Wonton Charlie’s opening just up the road in the arches by London Fields station, there’s some great Chinese food to be found in this little pocket of Hackney.
