PANTON YOKOCHO TO OPEN IN THE WEST END

Retro ramen is heading for the West End as the Heddon Yokocho team is opening a second site on Panton Street. Like the Mayfair site, the 120-cover Panton Yokocho will be decked out like a downtown 1970s Tokyo ramen bar with lanterns, posters, neon signs and a Japanese pop soundtrack, plus shuchu (which translates to ‘focus’) booths for solo diners. Regional ramen from across Japan will also be on the menu, including the classic Tonkotsu, the miso-based chicken & pork broth Sapporo Miso, and the salt & miso-based broth Hakodate Shio, as well as their own creation the tomato-based Vegan Napoli, with grilled tomato, mushroom and vegan cheese.

And there’ll be even more noods on offer as Panton Yokocho will also be serving up a range of udon and soba dishes like prawn tempura udon and sukiyaki beef soba, plus sides like karaage, gyoza and shio kosho chicken wings. Drinks-wise, you can expect sake flights, highballs, Japanese beers on draft, shochu cocktails and retro creations like the green melon soda float. Get ready to slurp.
