Time to practise your toss because the annual Pancake Day race is returning to The Lamb Tavern at Leadenhall Market this February. The event sees teams of four don bowler hats and put their tossing skills to the test by taking on the 20m relay course through the cobbled alleyways of the Victorian market, all in an effort to win the coveted golden frying pan trophy and a luxe hamper from the Lamb Tavern.
There are prizes the second and third place teams too, and usually a bogey one for the losing team (last year it was one of the pub’s scotch eggs to split between four). If you just want to spectate, head down there from early to grab a spot and one of the numerous pancakes being cooked up on the day.
