How to Flip Out on Pancake Day 2025

Looking for a flippin’ good time this Pancake Day? Or don’t trust yourself to get the batter onto a plate rather than stuck to your ceiling? Put your trust in one of London’s restaurants instead; the city’s brunch and pancake joints aren’t playing around when it comes to Shrove Tuesday this year and we’re here to give you the scoop. There are new specials, elaborate creations, exciting collabs, and loads to sink your teeth into (literally). These are the places to flip out on Pancake Day in London.


Flip Express

Fancy bagging some FREE pancakes? Motorola is celebrating its iconic moto Razr flip phone by flipping some crepes at the Flip Express kiosk on Argyll Street on Pancake Day. There’ll be 60 free pancakes up for grabs from 12.30pm onwards and all you have to do to get your hands on them is head to down to the kiosk and quote the iconic phrase “HELLO MOTO”.

Where The Pancakes Are

Year-round pancake destination Where The Pancakes Are has teamed up with St. Eve Free Range Eggs for a spesh pancake for Shrove Tuesday. The CFC – Cornflake Fried Chicken – pancake features a buttermilk pancake, cornflake-crusted buttermilk chicken, fried egg and rocket, with additional avo, hollandaise and pickle hitting the plate for brunch, and kimchi, corn on the cob and sriracha dip joining for lunch onwards. For each CFC sold, £1 will be donated to The Farming Community Network, a nation-wide charity that provides direct support and a helpline to farmers and farming families, and WTPA will be giving away 75 portions of pancakes for FREE on 4th March too.

Polo Bar

Polo Bar is going all out with a series of specials for Pancake Day, including Spicy Full English Pancakes (with streaky bacon, has browns, sausage, cheese, a fried egg and Laoganma crispy chilli oil), Pistachio Pancakes (with vanilla cream and pistachio sauce) and Pineapple Pancakes (with vanilla cream and caramelised pineapple). You can get these stacks all day and all night, but come hungry – or bring reinforcements – because they go BIG on the portion sizes. And if you think those are small fry, you can take part in their Ultimate Pancake Challenge to be in with the chance of winning a bottle of prosecco.

The Breakfast Club

Pancakes are a big deal at The Breakfast Club so, of course, they’re marking the occasion by opening around 7.30am – 8am right through to 9pm, so you can get your fix day and night. TBC will also be bringing back its Pancake Challenge, where diners attempt to eat 12 pancakes in 12 minutes and if they manage it, it’s free. If not, they’re encouraged to donate £20 to support its local community get-togethers.

Nessa

Nessa, a modern British bistro in the heart of Soho, is introducing a new special to their menu in the run-up to Shrove Tuesday. The dish centres around a buttermilk pancake, which is served with Yorkshire rhubarb and a shortbread crumb, with custard on the side.

Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill

Celebrate Pancake Day the Richard Corrigan way by heading to Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill for Crêpes Suzette, which are flambéed tableside and doused in Seville orange marmalade, blood oranges, and crème Chantilly. If you wanna be in charge of what goes on your pancakes but you don’t actually want to have to make them yourself, head to Apple Butter. On Pancake Day, you can customise your stack just the way you like it by choosing from a range of sauces and toppings, including dulce de leche, caramel, candy, berries, pretzels, and Oreos.
