Lemon & Sugar at Where The Pancakes Are

Where the pancakes are is going all out this pancake day by flipping out the stacks in their restaurant and in an extended pop-up space in Flat Iron Square. Classic lemon and sugar is the theme, with ‘A Very Lemony Affair’ – two buttermilk pancakes, lemon & sugar coated pistachios, candied lemon peel ricotta cream and lemon zested raspberries. And there’s even a pancake race to get involved in too.

Green Matcha Pancakes at Avobar

Being Avobar, you might think that the green in these pancakes comes from avocado but it’s actually a shot of matcha that’s caused the colour change. You can get them with avo-butter though, with either caramelised banana and maple syrup or crispy bacon and fried egg.

Specials at The Breakfast Club

You’ve got five pancake options to choose from at the Hackney Wick branch of The Breakfast Club. Savoury-wise, you’ve got the burger-inspired Big Stack, the fried chicken Ringer Stinger Tower and the vegan Jack Duckfruit – yes that’s jackfruit masquerading as crispy duck. If you like to keep it sweet, there’s the all-American PB&J stack or the Apple Pie, which is deep-fried just to ramp it up a notch.
