PALI HILL & BANDRA BHAI TO OPEN IN FITZROVIA

Rahul Khanna and Kabir Suri, the pair behind Indian group Azure Hospitality, are taking over the old Gaylord site in Fitzrovia and opening not one but two new places. Restaurant Pali Hill, named after one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Mumbai, will open on the first floor. As well as taking design inspo from art deco apartments found in the area, there’ll be a large grill in the open kitchen so you’ll be able to watch all the action.

You’ll be able to see the chefs cooking up dishes like poori sagu with spring peas & broad beans; steamed Parsi-style sea bream with coriander, mint & greenchilli; kid goat pulao with tomato & yoghurt raita; razor clams with kokum juice; grilled middlewhite pork with sweet tamarind, bay & fennel; and a range of flatbreads, chaats and dals.

Cocktail bar Bandra Bhai, inspired by the old smuggling dens of India, will open in the basement, with a hidden entrance and kitsch decor. Luke Ridge has designed the drinks menu, which features the likes of the whisky and spice The Don and the coconut-washed rum and melon Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy.

In the meantime, check out our fave Indian restaurants right here.
