WE ARE OUTTA LOCKDOWN. We know, we can’t quite believe it either. Beer gardens are back in business, outdoor drinking and dining is a thing again AND actual events are happening IRL. So how are we gonna celebrate? With a cheeky drink of course. Whether it’s a tequila spiked bev for Cinco de Mayo, tipples to take to an outdoor socialising sesh, a rose to mark the start of summer (yep it’s 100% summer people) or a can of hard seltzer to crack open for the bank hols, we’ve got options…
Beavertown Lager & Lime
This brand new brew from Beavertown is a lager and lime sensation. And cracking open a can of this is like reliving your youth, because if it wasn’t a cider and black it was a lager and lime down the pub. Refreshing AF and super citrusy.
Pimentae
Created by a London based two-woman team, Pimentae is bottling the magic of Mexico and letting us get a sip of it too with their Tommy’s Chilli Margarita. It’s a little bit sweet, a little bit spicy and the perfect marg for Cinco de Mayo and beyond.
STIR-UP Picante
If you’re looking to spice things up for your Cinco de Mayo celebrations, then this Picante cocktail kit from STIR-UP (the cocktail membership people) is the one. Not only does it include coriander-infused Patron tequila, a pouch of agave and fresh chilli, but also a bloody delish guacamole recipe and a curated playlist to get you in the Cinco de Mayo mood. We’ll absolutely drink to this.
Three Sheets’ Margarita
Bag yourself a bottle of this Margarita from much-loved Dalston cocktail bar Three Sheets for an at-home fiesta this Cinco de Mayo. It’s made with the usual mix of tequila and lime, but they’ve put a twist on things by adding a hint of orange and neroli. YES, it really is a tasty one and requires practically zero effort…just serve it cold straight from the bottle.
Tayēr + Equiano Rum Cantaloupe Melon Mai Tai
Just in time for World Cocktail Day on the 13th May (although we’ll be celebrating all month long), Equiano Rum Co have collabed with world-renowned cocktail bar Tayēr + Elementary to launch this ready-to-drink cocktail. It pairs the Equiano original with melon liqueur, Muyu Chinotto Nero, Tio Pepe and citrus cordial. Chin Chin!
Elephant Gin’s Orange + Cocoa
Elephant Gin have taken their signature London Dry Gin and combined it with organic Spanish oranges and notes of roasted cocoa. So even though we can’t holiday in sunny Spain itself, we can take a bottle of this with us next time we escape the city. It’s zesty, velvety and perfect to sip on in the spring – especially as they’ll be donating 15% of profits to African elephant conservation.

Clearly us Londoners are thirsty for craft beer as the city is overflowing with breweries. But if you’re looking for cans of the stuff to sip alongside your picnic feast, then Fourpure’s new simplified signature range is the one. From tropical pale ales with notes of mango and tangerine to VERY light and refreshing lagers, we’re big fans.
Tamburello Natural Wine
You’ve chosen your park and now you’re looking to crack open a good bottle of vino. This organic wine produced by Salvatore Tamburello’s organic micro-winery in Sicily will hit the spot. It’s fruity, a little bit spicy and slips down a right treat. Plus it’s best drunk cool, so by the time you’ve laid out your picnic essentials, it’s the perfect sipping temp.

May is a good month as we get TWO long bank holiday weekends. Come rain or shine, these all natural hard seltzers will brighten things up.
