People of Chelsea, Ottolenghi is coming to your ‘hood next year with one of his largest delis yet. The Pavilion Road site will be open from morning through to 7pm daily (and until 5pm on Sundays), meaning you’ll be able to swing by for coffee, pastries and breakfast dishes like shakshuka with labneh, and French toast with mixed berry jam & orange yoghurt. Lunchtimes will see the salad counter piled high with the likes of kale tahini-caesar with za’atar chickpea & roasted grapes; mushroom & rice pilaf with apricot; and cauliflower & romanesco with capers & ricotta. There’ll also be a selection of hot and cold mains including grilled cod with spiced tomato & coconut spring greens, and herb and peppercorn crusted sirloin with chimichurri.
And it’s just not an Ottolenghi without towers of cakes and baked goods in the windows and the Chelsea deli will be no different. The rotating selection of bakes is set to include lavosh, caramelised white chocolate & macadamia cookies, tangerine & pistachio mini loaves with yuzu icing, and cranberry & oat cookies. YUM.
