Urban Pubs & Bars, which recently bought the Salt Yard group, is giving Opera Tavern a makeover and re-opening the Spanish-Italian restaurant this summer. As well as giving the exterior a lick of paint, the ground floor will be rejigged into a tapas bar with a more formal 45-cover dining room and bar upstairs.
New Head Chef Lukasz Kiełbasiński (who’s worked at Daphne’s, Michael Nadra and Salt Yard) has created a new menu featuring dishes like pluma with piquillo pepper puree; chicken saltambucca with aubergine; Welsh lamb belly with summer vegetables and pesto; lemon sole with basil puree and brown shrimp sauce; and bavette with onion and bone marrow. And in a nod to the restaurant’s early days, the famous Iberico pork burger and the ‘nduja scotch egg are both sticking around.
Opera Tavern will be on soft launch from 24th – 27th July, with 50% OFF food at both lunch and dinner
