For the first time, Londoners can take a dip in the dock to cool down on a hot day or swim the 600-metre course at Canary Wharf. Together with Love Open Water and the Canal & River Trust, Canary Wharf has launched the new open water swimming spot which will be open to the public until the end of September. The water is rigorously and regularly tested to ensure it’s clean and safe and people of all skill levels over the age of 10 are encouraged to go for a swim at the lifeguarded sessions, which run all week. Access costs £8 for three-four hours in the water, plus a £15 annual membership to NOWCA, the UK’s largest network of safe open water venues. If you’re looking for a great way to escape the heat in the city, this is it.
