Someone’s obviously been watching reruns of Del Boy and Rodney during lockdown as 80s and 90s themed restaurant Only Fools and Courses is opening in Pop Brixton this month. Run by chef Robbie Lorraine, the shipping container restaurant isn’t directly inspired by the classic sitcom but rather greasy spoons and retro British dishes or in the team’s own words “best of British nostalgia delivered with the banter of a street market trader.” Ok then.
Taking inspo from the food of his childhood and given a fine-dining lift, Lorraine’s menu features the likes of crab scotch eggs, prawn cocktail, confit duck eclairs, pop tarts and lobster doughnuts. During the day there’ll be a brunch/lunch menu on offer with a four- or six-course dinner menu in the evenings.
