ONG ONG BUNS IS OPENING THEIR BERMONDSEY BAKERY TO THE PUBLIC

There’ll soon be two places you can pick up Asian bakes from Ong Ong Buns as the bakery opens up its production kitchen

Founded during the pandemic by husband-and-wife team Aaron (from London with heritage in Hong Kong) and Icy Mo (from Malaysia), Ong Ong Buns was set up to showcase the wide range of Asian bakes to Londoners and to reflect the global food culture of the city. After starting out with a popular pop-up in Shoreditch, Ong Ong Buns moved to a spot inside Seven Dials Market.

There, the team is serving up an array of baked goodies, including cookies, mochi, milk buns filled with char siu pork or halal chicken curry, vegan milk buns with kimchi & jackfruit, Korean garlic bread, custard & coconut bun, and coconut & pandan cake, and they often do bun specials with Caribbean, American, British, and Scandinavian-inspired fillings having hit the menu in the past.

Ong Ong Buns also runs a wholesale operation out of its production kitchen in Spa Terminus in Bermondsey, and this month it’ll be opening up to the public every Friday and Saturday, 9am – 5pm, so you’ll be able to pick up all the milk buns you can handle in South London as well as Covent Garden.

Opens Sat 22nd July 2023
Unit 6, Spa Terminus, Voyager Estate South, Spa Rd, London SE16 4RP
