One of Italy’s Most Famous Sandwich Shops Has Come to London

The first UK branch of All’Antico Vinaio has landed in Soho

Over the last few years London truly has become a sandwich city and our love for things between bread is showing no signs of slowing as famous Italian sarnie shop All’Antico Vinaio has just opened in Soho (only a few doors down from other hyped sandwich spot Crunch).

Founded in Florence by the Mazzanti family, All’Antico Vinaio now boasts 47 shops worldwide, with several in Italy as well as locations in New York, LA, Las Vegas and Dubai. The Old Compton Street site, where iconic Italian deli I Camisa & Son used to be, serves up the brand’s signature schiacciata bread stuffed with fillings including:

  • La Favolosa – salami, pecorino cream, artichoke cream and spicy aubergines
  • La Royal – salami, stracciatella, sun-dried tomatoes and courgettes
  • La London – porchetta, cheddar, potato cream and caramelised onion
  • Caprese AV – buffalo mozzarella, basil pesto, tomato and basil
  • La Giotto – ham, mozzarella, pistachio cream and chopped pistachios

If they’re not already big enough, you can pimp your sarnies with additional fillings, though be prepared to queue for it – the lines quickly formed over the opening weekend and we bet it’s going to stay pretty popular.
