A secret bar has opened inside Mayfair restaurant Cubé with just twelve seats and only one dish on the menu. The Oden Bar serves, unsurprisingly, oden, one of the oldest fast foods in Japan, which is usually eaten in colder months.
Oden consists of a bowl of dashi stock with a selection of chosen ingredients, such as egg, daikon, fried fish cake with burdock and Japanese sausage. You dip the ingredients into a pot of mustard that comes on the side, taking slurps of dashi in between.
At the Oden Bar, you can get the dish with all the additions plus a special Nikka Whisky Highball for £20, or you can pick and choose what you add to your bowl with individually priced ingredients.
