OCHRE RESTAURANT TO OPEN AT THE NATIONAL GALLERY

The Muriel’s Kitchen team, Charlotte and Sam Miller, is heading to the National Gallery this spring, taking over the National Cafe space and turning it into Ochre. The restaurant, headed up by Exec Chef Alex Drayton, will showcase the best British produce, with fruit & veg coming from EA Williams at New Covent Garden Market, free-range meat from The Butchers Block, and natty wines from Tillingham Winery.

The menu includes dishes like British charcuterie with piccalilli, Cornish mackerel & sea lettuce tacos, London burrata with pickled girolles & English peas, saffron pappardelle with spiced ricotta, English mussels with Cornish cider, West Country lamb with olive & mint tapenade, and three types of tatties – triple cooked chips, confit, and dauphinoise – on the sides list. There’ll be cheese trollies wheeling around too, stacked with the best British cheeses, a daily afternoon tea service, and brunch on the weekends accompanied by live music. There’s even a cocktail bar and a DJ booth inside the space – defo more than somewhere you stop for a sarnie after checking out the paintings.
