Nuno Mendes is coming back to London and he’s bringing a bit of Lisbon with him for his new restaurant LISBOETA, opening in Fitzrovia in the spring. Taking over three floors of a townhouse on Charlotte Street, the restaurant will be a love letter to Nuno’s home city and give Londoners the chance to eat, drink and live life like a Lisboeta.
The ground floor will feature a long bar made from repurposed tram wood and limestone from Lisbon, and will be a place where you can dip into petiscos (aka little plates) and a glass of Portuguese wine. Upstairs in the main dining room, lunch and dinner will be served ‘tasca’ style, with large sharing dishes for the table on the menu. And then later in the year, the ‘Adega’, an immersive dining space overlooking the kitchen and wine cellar, will open in the basement. Haven’t got a trip to Lisbon booked for next year? This will be your next best bet.
