He’s recently done the brunch menu for The De Beauvoir and The Scolt Head, and now famous Portuguese chef Nuno Mendes (he of Viajante, Chiltern Firehouse & more) has gone down the road to pizzeria Sweet Thursday (which also happens to be owned by the same people behind The Scolt Head) to do a special menu for them too. And he’s not doing pizza but pizza sandwiches, which is pizza dough that’s wood-fired with smoked mozzarella, topped like a sarnie and then folded in half.
There are four to choose from: roast beef & horseradish with caramelised onions; meatball marinara; the vegan cauliflower & caponata with garlic whipped tofu; and Italian banh mi with roasted pork belly, pickled onions and parmesan chilli dressing. If you want a pizz’a that action, you can click & collect at Sweet Thursday daily between 12pm – 4pm or you can get them delivered Thurs – Sun.
