Noren Sake & Sushi Bar Is Bringing Maka-Zu Sushi to London

The restaurant is taking over the Roji site in Mayfair

Husband-and-wife team Tamas Naszai and Tomoko Hasegawa, who won great acclaim with ten-seater omakase restaurant Roji, temporarily closed their Mayfair restaurant to allow them to focus on their new neo-izakaya Himi in Carnaby (watch out for our review dropping soon). Now it appears that Roji is gone for good as new sushi restaurant Noren Sake & Sushi Bar is taking over the space.

Noren will run an a la carte sushi menu, including maka-zu (open sushi), like a baby handroll or an open gunkan, which apparently hasn’t been done in London before. That’ll be served with a selection of sake, shochu, wine and beer. The counter restaurant will still seat ten, so you can book for two or take over the whole space. It’ll open on Fridays and Saturdays to begin with, and more days will be added soon, so sushi fans, get this on your hit list.
