Anna Søgaard Launches Seasonal Nordic Pop Up This January for Two Nights Only

Danish chef Anna Søgaard brings London a taste of home with her new Jomfru concept

As Anna Søgaard herself points out, Danish and Scandinavian food is rarely represented in London. That’s why she has developed an exciting new restaurant concept, Jomfru, which will celebrate authentic Danish dishes – many of which, she notes, have become increasingly popular among those travelling to Copenhagen.

For two nights only, the concept restaurant will take up residence at Dina Wines in Stratford, offering a menu of seasonal seafood-led dishes that combine classic Danish flavours with influences from across the Nordic countries.

“I wanted to cook something very personal to who I am and where I come from,” she explains. “Danish food is what I grew up eating, and I’ve noticed a growing interest in it among those who visit Copenhagen. I wanted to create something that is authentic and personal, yet still rarely represented in London.”

Anna Søgaard first made a name for herself at Erst, a minimalist wine bar and restaurant in Manchester, before moving to London to take over the kitchen at Shoreditch staple Bistro Freddie. So, it’s safe to say that when it comes to curating exceptional dining experiences, you’re in the safest of hands.

The exclusive Jomfru menu will feature favourites such as smørrebrød (Danish open-faced sandwiches), alongside a selection of fish and shellfish dishes.

If this piques your interest, act quickly – the Jomfru residency will be in place for just two days so get your bookings in fast!
