Last year’s Olympics proved that if London can do anything well, it’s putting on a great sports day. Of course, actually running around and building up a sweat isn’t for everyone, so the Queen of Hoxton is hosting the No Sweat Sports Day. Events include beer pong, a rock-paper-scissors tournament, limbo, a staring competition, frying pan ping pong, ladder golf and speed foosball. With the drinks flowing all day, the standard of competition should be ‘interesting’, but even if you’re not victorious on the sports field, everyone will be winners on the dance floor later.
Only 100 places are available for participants, so be quick if you want to register! Sign up with four friends in a team of five and you’ll be competing against 19 other teams, all vying for the gold medals in the seven ‘sports’. DJs will be spinning tunes from 3pm, with Pimms and BBQ available all day. The day naturally builds up to the prize ceremony and other than awards for the winners of each sports, prizes will also be given for best dressed, best banter and naturally a wooden spoon for the last placed team!
To get involved, create a team of five including a witty team name, purchase the ticket online, get together a suitably wacky kit and then start your dedicated fitness regime! Teams can register from 1pm on the day, with the events kicking off at 2pm. And if you’re unlucky and miss out on tickets this time, keep your eyes open for a second event later this year…
