an announcement made this morning by NME Editor Mike Williams, Britain’s weekly music magazine the NME is set to go FREE from September and will be handed out in places such as universities and train stations. The 63 year old magazine’s circulation will also jump up to 300,000 copies a week from 15,000. NME’s publisher Time Inc said music would stay “at the heart of the brand”, but the magazine will also now expand to cover film, fashion, TV, politics and gaming.

The first free issue of NME will be available on the 18th September 2015.
