there a better accompaniment for good meat than quality whisky? Probably not. Nothing goes better with a rare steak than a nice single malt. Smiths of Smithfield know their meat, and for the next couple of weeks you’ll also be able to enjoy Nikka whisky before, during or after your meal too as the Japanese Whisky brand have popped up in the cocktail bar.

The concept follows the Japanese ideal of having a knowledgeable barman design your perfect drink based on your exact requirements. This is considered the height of sophistication in the Far East, a concept which has now arrived in London.

The pop up bar is only open until 31st May, so make sure to get involved as quickly as you can. Nikka is a whisky of the highest quality, equivalent to the finest scotch. Those new to whisky may choose to go for a fiery Nikka from the barrel, a smooth Nikka Coffee Grain, or smoky Nikka Pure Malt; while those who prefer a punchier hit may prefer the Nikka Taketsuru 17, a blend of single malts, or the pure single malts of Nikka Yoichi or Nikka Miyagikyo, all of which can be used to make some pretty tasty cocktails.

Tailor made suits might be a pipe dream, but tailor made cocktails are waiting for you at this quirky pop up…
