people will have heard of Pig in The Forest, a restaurant with rooms set in New Forest which received rave reviews after its opening in 2011. The brains behind the hotel are the same ones who set up the popular Limehouse, David Elton and Robin Hutson – who previously had his fingers in Hotel du Vin, one of our favourite UK hotel groups.

Well now the Pig is breeding, opening a sibling just 20 minutes away, located in Southampton’s historic medieval walls by the waterfront. The new property, Pig in The Wall is set to open on 1st October and like it’s old sister it will be a pretty stylish abode with 12 rooms however rather controversially there will be no restaurant – shock horror.

Instead the B&B will be encouraging guests to eat at Pig in The Forest by provide complimentary transfers between both properties. The best of both – we like! The restaurant at Pig in The Forest has a home grown and local ethos, most of the ingredients come from the garden and grounds and all of the ingredients are from within a 25 mile radius. We haven’t tried but we hear it’s the snizzle…
