This January, Memphis Tennessee is setting up home in London in the form of Q, a new BBQ restaurant and bar in Camden Town by Des McDonald, founder of the newly opened Fish & Chip Shop in Islington.
We’re told the concept is ‘Tennessee, meets farm-to-grill, meets Camden Town’ and if the recent re-runs of Man Vs Food are anything to go by (he ate an 8lb burger on his trip through the Southern State) we’re definitely going to be heading down for a piece of the action.
We’ve taken a look at the menu, and this is definitely not one for veggies…starters include Moonshine Battered Shrimp, ‘Hickory Chickory’ salad with blue cheese & crispy bacon and Burnt End Meat Balls. Mains from the ‘charred’ section include Pecan Wood Roasted Chicken, Josper Grilled Rib Eye Steak and the Q Burger, as well as juicy Pulled Pork Sandwiches and Smoked ‘Kielbasa’ Hotdogs from the ‘smoked’ section. In short, a meat-feast.
To quench your thirst there’ll be a selection of US bourbons and whiskeys, as well as a menu of southern-inspired cocktails. Yee-haaaaaaaah!
Q will be open daily from 12pm until 1am, with takeaways available.
Q, 29 – 33 Chalk Farm Road, London, NW1 8AJ
