Whether you’re in the mood for dinner and drinks, or something a little stronger, here are the best ways to celebrate New Year’s Eve in London this year.
A huge portion of the city will be by the River watching the Mayor of London’s fireworks and if you’ve managed to get your hands on tickets, you might wanna find a good spot for some pre or post drinks nearby. Spiritland’s takeover at Omeara is a good shout – just make sure you’ve got a South London spot to head back to after as crossing bridges on the night itself will be near impossible.
If you haven’t secured tickets to the New Year’s Eve fireworks but still wanna catch the show, grab tickets to Somerset House’s party instead. Aside from having stunning views of the fireworks from the River Terrace, there’ll be live performances, plenty of cocktails and ice skating. On the other hand, if you want to dodge the chaos of Central London altogether, make a beeline for Acme Fire Cult, Llama Inn or Pretty Decent Beer Co, who’ll all be putting their own twists on a New Year’s Eve party. Somerset House has tonnes of fun planned for this New Year’s Eve. There’ll be a lot going on, but highlights will include ice skating at Somerset House’s iconic rink, performances by award-winning cabaret collective The Cocoa Butter Club, a set from hot London DJ Bushbby and views of the Mayor of London’s world-famous fireworks display from the River Terrace. Spiritland at Omeara
Cafe, studio and listening lounge Spiritland is taking over Borough-based venue Omeara for a massive night of House, Disco, Funk, Soul, Hip Hop, Boogie, Hi-NRG and Pop music. Expect 11 DJs to be at the decks throughout the night, including the likes of Luke Solomon, X-Press 2, Mr Shiver, Sarahtonin, Mike Menace and Emotional POP.

Seabird
One of London’s hottest rooftop restaurants is pulling out all the stops for its New Year’s Eve celebrations. Seabird’s celebration dinner will start with a glass of Ruinart Blanc de Blancs, followed by a range of sharing dishes and mains like Grey Goose dressed crab, ox tail croquetas, octopus rolls, lobster rice, and beef rib eye. Signature Brew
Walthamstow-based brewery Signature Brew is putting on a mini music festival for New Year’s Eve this year, with a line-up of UK rock legends and up-and-comers. Expect to see sets from Jamie Lenman, InMe, Yur Mum, Sophie K (We Wear Black) and more, plus, there’ll be burgers from 7Bone and (of course) plenty of Signature Brew’s signature brews.

Carousel x AVA
Chef residency space Carousel is continuing its collaboration with the Audio Visual Arts Festival & Conference (AVA) on their series PAIRED this New Year’s Eve. The Hoxton in Shoreditch is putting on a New Year’s Eve party with an all-female lineup of DJs – including A.G, Alia Loren and Babylon Fox – and entry is totally FREE.
