Updated: 9th September 2026 Nakimushi Nakimushi has opened in Notting Hill, a new townhouse from the guys behind Eel Sushi Bar, Dorian and Supermarket of Dreams. The site is split over two floors, with a ramen bar downstairs and a full Japanese restaurant upstairs. The menu has some fun spin on the classics, including Scottish lobster ramen with seafood paitan and sobrassada, plus a pistachio matcha ramen if that's your thing. For us, the highlights were the steamed fish of the day in red vinegar sauce - a beautifully soft piece of brill - with shio koji dressing, and wild hamachi with yukari ponzu and nori oil. Chuck in a couple of highballs and you're sorted. Opened September 20267 Kensington Mall, W8 4EBnakimushi.co.uk Azra Afghan spot Azra is the latest place helping to turn Leyton's Tilbury Road into a destination for. Opened by three siblings with their mother in the kitchen, authentic family recipes shape the menu. The mantu are the thing: beef dumplings, hand-folded, topped with a silky yoghurt and a warm meat sauce that pools underneath. The veggie options are super tasty too. The flatbreads are another must – one stuffed with potatoes and herbs, the other with leeks and herbs. Eat them with everything. There aren’t too many Afghan restaurants in London, which makes Azra a great find. You can feel the love that’s gone into it running through every dish. Go hungry. Order to share. Opened August 2026Under the archway, Tilbury Road, Leyton, E10azra.leyton Kismet London’s run of modern Turkish openings shows no sign of slowing. The latest is Kismet, a meyhane above The Globe Tavern in Borough Market. A meyhane is the Istanbul and Northern Cypriot take on a tavern, where dishes arrive in waves rather than courses and nobody’s in a hurry. The menu runs to meze and mangal-grilled kebabs with trad dishes like atom (buffalo yoghurt with chilli butter), fried lamb’s liver, şeftali kebabı (the Cypriot minced lamb and beef kebab wrapped in caul fat that’s currently having a moment at Impala and Zylia) and lamb şiş, with baklava and pistachio ice cream to finish. Raki leads the drinks, and in proper meyhane fashion, regulars can buy a bottle and leave it on the shelf for next time. There’s a concise list of Turkish wines from producers like Sevilen and Kuzubağ, plus a house lager called Basketcase, named after the men Istanbul bars once hired to carry drunk customers home in baskets. A Turkish musician plays live each week. Opened July 2026Kismet, Upstairs at The Globe Tavern, 8 Bedale Street, London, SE1 9ALkismet.london Hons BBQ Hon's BBQ has opened its first permanent home, taking over Silo's old canal-side spot above Crate Brewery in Hackney Wick. Founder Man Hon Luk went from running record shop Vinyl Pimp to training under pitmaster John Bates in Austin, and the low-and-slow Texan technique he brought back now meets his Hong Kong roots: ox cheek and pork ribs smoked for up to five hours alongside Sichuan beef short ribs and mac and cheese laced with lap cheong. Meat's sold by the gram until it runs out, so go early or book ahead with a specific cut in mind. Head chef Norine Chu (Singburi, Tempo) runs the pass, Brat's sommelier Oliver Dibben handles the wine list, and once dinner service winds down the 80-cover room shifts into a late-night bar powered by a rave-grade sound system from Noise Control Audio. Opened July 2026Hon’s BBQ, Unit 7 Queen’s Yard, E9 5EN@honsbbq Brasserie Olivia Sloane Square has a new French brasserie courtesy of Paris group La Nouvelle Garde, marking the group's first opening outside France after nine sites across Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon, Marseille and Paris (including Brasserie Bellanger). Brasserie Olivia has taken over the old Côte site opposite the square, with the kitchen led by Rachide Sambu Balde (ex-Galvin La Chapelle, Angler, Morchella) alongside the group's executive chef Thibaut Darteyre. The seafood-led menu runs on wood-fire cooking, with an oyster bar and a lobster tank front and centre, plus steak frites and sausage and mash among the group's usual staples. B3 Designers (Lita, Lyle's) is behind the checkerboard-tiled dining room, while downstairs is Venus Bar, a 1970s-style speakeasy with oak panelling and an all-day drinks list. Opened July 20261 Sloane Square, Chelsea, SW1W 8EElanouvellegarde.com Cremer Cremer, the new spot from the team behind Space Talk, the Clerkenwell listening bar that's become near impossible to get into, has opened on the corner opposite Hoxton Overground, in the site that used to be Molly's. It's a bakery and canteen serving breakfast and lunch, the first daytime-only project from the same team. DALLA owner Gennaro Leone has designed the space to feel more like someone's front room than a restaurant, with a library of books, a garden out back, and a bakery counter that takes over most of the first room. Further in, the canteen runs communal tables with a menu from chefs who've previously worked at Primeur and Polentina, serving dishes like crispy lamb salad with apricot and rocket, and spinach, sheep's cheese and walnut dumplings. Think Corner Shop only more chic. Opened July 2026Opened June1 Geffrye Street, Hoxton, E2 8JH@cremerlondon Café Clement Soho House founder Nick Jones is back with his first restaurant since stepping down from the members' club empire he built, and it's already the hottest table in town - Stanley Tucci, Natalie Imbruglia and Angela Hartnett have all been spotted dropping in. Café Clement is the ground-floor all-day restaurant at Jones' new St Clement hotel by Temple, run by ex-River Café head chef Danny Bohan, with terrace seating out front, a garden round the back, and a glossy, glitzy dining room inside. The menu spans pastas, salads, grilled meats and fish, with standouts including the parmesan custard with caviar, an open Scottish lobster omelette, turbot with salsa verde, and delightfully retro crinkle fries. Opened June 202612 Temple Place, London, WC2R 2NFstclement.co.uk/cafe-clement/ Birchwood – The Conduit Chef Will Devlin is making his London debut, bringing his sustainability-led cooking to Covent Garden with Birchwood – The Conduit. Landing inside The Conduit on Langley Street, the project is a three-way link-up between Devlin, hospitality group Levy, and the members’ club itself. It’s also the third food concept to take on the space, so let’s hope it’s third time lucky. The shared focus is on ethical farming, seasonality and low-impact dining, with Devlin’s Kent-based Acre group supplying much of the produce. Birchwood – The Conduit runs as a café and wine bar from day one, with a rooftop restaurant set to follow later this autumn. During the day, the menu leans into high-quality grab-and-go, with things like sausage and egg muffins made using meat from Acre’s own butchery, pastries, and stacked sandwiches. Come evening, the space shifts gears into a more relaxed wine bar setup. That means small plates, British cheeses and house charcuterie, plus dishes like mushroom croquettes with black garlic and braised lentils with smoked beetroot and feta. Puddings keep things regional too, with the likes of Kentish gypsy tart and gooseberries on offer. Opened June 20266 Langley St, London WC2H 9JAbirchwood-family.com Darjeeling Express Asma Khan has relocating her Indian restaurant Darjeeling Express for the fourth time. Khan started Darjeeling Express as a pop-up at Soho pub The Sun & 13 Cantons in 2014 before taking on a permanent site in Kingly Court. She decided not to reopen there post-lockdown and chose instead to move the restaurant to a bigger site in Covent Garden, where she stayed until the summer of 2022. Following another pop-up stint, this time in west London, Khan moved Darjeeling Express back to Kingly Court at the beginning of 2023. Now she’s left the Carnaby venue once more and taking over the old Horvada site on Rupert Street in Chinatown. Darjeeling Express 4.0 is much bigger and set over two floors, with a bigger dining area and more room for Khan’s all-female team in the kitchen. As she has said on Instagram, that means more food like “kathi rolls, keema, samosa, vada pav, falooda, all the things that are your favourites. Maybe bring back a midweek biryani”. Opened June 202636-40 Rupert St, London W1D 6DWdarjeeling-express.com Lady of the Grapes London Bridge Parisian restaurateur and WSET-certified wine expert Carole Bryon opened Lady of the Grapes in Covent Garden back in 2018, as a place to champion organic and natural wines and female producers. Now she’s expanded, opening a second Lady of the Grapes bar inside the Menier Chocolate Factory by Borough Market. The Grade-II listed Victorian building is an epic space and Lady of the Grapes SE1 has taken up a ground-floor site with windows along two walls, room for 60 in the main restaurant and 20 on the terrace. The 400+ wine list, with many available by the glass, carries the same Lady of the Grapes ethos of showcasing natural, organic wines and bottles made by female producers, with Head Chef Matyáš Plzák (ex-Frog by Adam Handling, Frenchie and Mãos) cooking up modern French bistro fare to go with it. Expect dishes like smoked eel tartelette with Jerusalem artichoke; comté soufflé with summer truffle; pork terrine; clams with pastis broth and fennel; poached Bresse chicken with vin jaune sauce and morels; lamb chops with mint Grenobloise, peas, artichokes and lamb jus; canard aux olives; whole plaice with sauce choron; madeleines; and Paris-Brest. Opened June 202653 Southwark Street, London, SE1 1RUladyofthegrapes.com Buvette James Beard Award-winning chef and restaurateur Jody Williams has brought her cult spot Buvette to town, taking over the former St. John Bakery site in Neal’s Yard. Jody, who also co-owns Via Carota, I Sodi, The Commerce Inn and Bar Pisellino with her wife Rita Sodi, first opened Buvette in the West Village in 2011 and has since taken the restaurant to Paris, Tokyo and Seoul. The 80-cover London outpost is open all day, meaning you can pop in for a coffee with waffle sandwiches and some eggs, a leisurely lunch of salade niçoise and croques on the terrace, a hearty dinner of steak tartare and cq au vin, or post-theatre cocktails and glasses of French wine. Opened June 20262 Neal’s Yard, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9DP@buvettelondon Zylia Hot on the heels of Maza and Taverna Ermou, not to mention all of the other recent Greek openings, another taverna has landed in London. Zylia, open as a standalone restaurant as part of the new Arcade food hall in Covent Garden, is a Greek-Cypriot taverna from Athens-born chef Nick Molyviatis (ex-Kiln, Smoking Goat, Oma and co-owner of Singburi) and Cypriot hospo operator Barry Karacostas. The restaurant is a reflection of the pair’s shared traditions and the distinct flavours of Greek and Cypriot cooking. Alongside an all-Greek wine list and Greek and Cypriot beers, the menu includes dishes like melitzanosalata – roasted aubergine and pepper dip; tyrokafteri – smashed feta with roasted green chilli and yoghurt; spanakopita; grilled prawn saganaki with spiced tomato sauce; sheftalia; pork & chicken souvlaki; vazania – grilled aubergine with spiced tomato sauce and anari cheese; whole grilled fish; lamb kleftiko; lamb chops served Greek style, with olive oil chips; karidopita – traditional Greek walnut cake; galaktompoureko; and kaimaki ice cream with sour cherry preserve. Opened June 20266 Bedford Street, London WC2E 9HZzyliataverna.com Appalachia It’s all change at Counter 71 this June as the former tasting menu spot, which was led by Joe Laker and had a real focus on British produce, has flipped into Appalachia, inspired by the mountainous region of the US. Alistair Borer (ex-Smoking Goat) is heading up the Appalachia kitchen, combining his fire-led cooking with heritage-driven produce and high-country traditions. His menu includes dishes like smoked eel and jalapeno devilled eggs; Kelly rock oysters with tomatillo and scotch bonnet; BBQ whole quail with blue cheese slaw; grilled poussin with grits; country-fried rabbit with chorizo gravy; pork chop with collard greens; and curried crab omelette. Opened June 202671 Nile Street, London N1 7RD appalachia.co.uk Vesper Jackson Boxer's Vesper has landed in the old Taqueria site, following the success of Dove in Notting Hill, which has been drawing serious crowds since opening at the start of 2025. The 70-cover site has timber-framed windows wrapping around the corner, a relaxed bar up front, and a candlelit dining room tucked behind. There’s also a terrace for outdoor tables, which will no doubt be in high demand once the weather plays ball. On the food side, the menu mixes snacks, small plates and larger dishes, with Boxer’s signature mix of British produce and global influence running throughout. You’ve got things like oysters with green apple and chartreuse, raw beef tostadas, and sole fritters with curry sauce sitting alongside chicken liver agnolotti, pea and mint gnudi, and Dorset clams with black beans and white pepper. Bigger plates include glazed lamb shoulder with merguez and devilled kidney, roast chicken with bread sauce and salted lemon, and grilled gurnard with crab butter. Opened June 20268-10 Exmouth Market, London, EC1R 4QA@vesper.restaurant Photo: @antonrodriguez No. Forty Nine After finding success with live-fire spot Cinder, first in Belsize Park and then in St John’s Wood, Jake Finn has opened a new concept in North West London this June, just a minute’s walk away from his restaurant in St John’s Wood. He’s teaming up with Ella Williams (ex-Hausu, Mountain and Crispin) for No. Forty Nine, which runs as a bakery, all-day bistro and wine bar. No. Forty Nine is open daily from 8am to serve coffees, juices, brekkie dishes to-go, breads and pastries like, pastrami pain suisse; burnt leek, cheddar & Marmite swirls; miso butterscotch canelés; and candied orange financiers. From midday, Ella is serving a menu that blends NYC bistro dishes with Mediterranean influences, meaning plates like cornbread madeleines with scotch bonnet honey butter; crab choux buns; steak tartare with sour cream & onion crisps; asparagus and romano bean salad with kalamata dressing; tagliolini with prawns and bisque; roasted aubergine with avjar and kumquat dukkah; steak haché with five peppercorn sauce; oxtail & guindilla pizza; and Baby Guinness sundae with coffee fudge and graham cracker crumble. Dupee opened Temaki, the city’s first handroll bar inspired by those in California, in Brixton in 2021, and the restaurant quickly earned a loyal following (including us) for its fresh handrolls and great value menu sets. Now he’s relocated the restaurant from Market Row to a bigger two-level space on Mayfair’s Maddox Street, which has 16 seats around a counter and a 28-cover downstairs space, inspired by Japanese listening bars. The signature handrolls still feature on the menu (we loved the BBQ eel and the otoro tuna ones on the Brixton menu) but more space is allowing the team to expand the offering. That means Japanese small plates like crispy rice topped with premium cuts of fish, A4 wagyu sliders, and a changing selection of sandos alongside wines, sake and a tight cocktail list. Opened June 202611 Maddox Street, London, W1S 2QFtemaki.co.uk Fields Almost a year after its closure, the cafe in Ladywell Fields has been brought back to life by South London locals Joel and Alina Falconer, who run coffee shop Cafe Oscar’s, restaurant Wilson’s and sustainable food shop Plenty. They’ve turned the space into Fields, a proper park cafe (with toilets) that serves great coffee; bacon rolls and pastries in the mornings; and toasted sarnies, tater tots, and seasonal specials for lunch. During the summer, there’s soft serve and gelato on offer too, plus weekend food pop-ups featuring pizza, tacos, rotisserie chicken and booze. Come winter, soups and hot chocolates will be added to the menu. Opened June 2026Ladywell Rd, London SE13 7UZ@fieldscafe Kinz Kinz has been opened by Jad Lahoud, Karim Lahoud, and Rasha Khouri Bruzzo. They're bringing a fresh take on Lebanese food to London and they’ve gone big, taking over the former Lloyds Bank building on Notting Hill Gate. Designed by architect Sir Edward Maufe, it’s an impressive venue and it’s being put to good use. The main space has room for 130, with a triple-height ground floor, a mezzanine level and a canopied bar underneath. There's a private dining room holding 16 on the third floor, filled with pomegranate tapestries, there's a dedicated wine room in the bank’s old vault, and a there’s a deli space up front. The all-day menu mixes recipes passed down through generations with modern creations. In the mornings you can get egg dishes, sandwiches and a full Lebanese breakfast, with mezze and sharing plates on offer for lunch and dinner. Expect the likes of baba ganoush; tabbouleh; lamb kafta; warak enab with koussa and lamb cutlet – spiced lamb and rice in vine leaves and baby courgettes; and fattet aubergine – baked aubergine layered with pine nuts, tomato, yoghurt and pita Opened June 202650 Notting Hill Gate, London W11 3JD kinzrestaurant.com The Sea, The Sea Fishmongers and seafood bar The Sea, The Sea has gained a loyal following from both punters and restaurants alike (it supplies the likes of Ikoyi and KOL), and it’s been such a success that founder Alex Hunter has expanded the biz with a new bistro and fish shop, complete with an outdoor terrace. And he’s only gone across Pavilion Road to do it. The retail offering at the new site is larger, so as well as house-aged fish, shellfish, and day boat catches on display, there’s also a seaweed counter, freshly prepared lunch boxes of sashimi sets and shellfish rolls to grab-and-go, and oven-ready options like miso black cod and Singapore chilli crab. Come evening, the space flips into a ten-seater seafood bar. There’s more room to eat in upstairs in the 40-cover bistro led by Head Chef Nick Marsden (ex-Dovetale, Pitt Cue and The Laughing Heart). His menu includes dishes like pickled Fowey mussels with sunsweet melon and lovage; confit sea trout with white asparagus and mustard greens; skate wing with Trombetta courgette, nettle and Gordal olives; grilled half Cornish lobster with Vin Jaune sabayon and brown butter; whole plaice with braised punterelle, broad beans and mint; potato ice cream, preserved spruce and smoked eel; and Okinawa sugar tart with pumpkin seed praline. Opened May 2026243 Pavilion Road, London, SW1X 0AWtheseathesea.net Nammos Mykonos hotspot Nammos (which also has sites in Cyprus, France and Dubai), where celebs flock to for Mediterranean food and party vibes when they’re on the island, has finally come over to London. Yes the city’s Greek obsession doesn’t look to be fading any time soon. We first reported that the restaurant would be opening in Knightsbridge two years ago but a lot has changed in that time as Nammos is now open in Mayfair instead, taking over the former Il Borro site. The London outpost of the restaurant can't offer the sea views and cabanas on the beach you get at the original one, but it is bringing “Aegean-inspired elegance” to the two-storey space. The menu is largely Mediterranean, with some Japanese influences thrown in, with signature dishes like aubergine mille-feuille with whipped feta and spicy crab tartare with yuzu truffle joining steaks off the josper grill. Opened May 202615 Berkeley St, London W1J 8DYnammos.com The Victory After finding success with The Begging Bowl and The Palmerston, Jamie Younger is back in East Dulwich to open The Victory. The pub, which had most recently been operating as Franklins, has got a full refurb, including a zinc bar top, porcelain lights, a bespoke back bar, antique mirrors, and polished wooden floors, and has reopened under its original name. Jamie has also recruited Executive Chef Seán Breen (ex-Noble Rot and Hero of Maida Vale) to lead the kitchen. The Victory’s menu showcases British cooking with a dash of French bistro thrown in, with dishes like Bayonne ham with celeriac remoulade; salsify fritters with aged Comté and truffle; steak tartare with dripping toast; Cornish crab vinaigrette with fresh herbs; poached sea trout with trout roe and dill beurre blanc; sauté veal sweetbreads Grenobloise; butterflied red mullet with asparagus and bottarga; roast poulet jaune with seasonal sides and garnishes; fig leaf custard with Gariguettes, black pepper and Beaujolais; and chocolate & hazelnut choux bun. Opened May 2026157 Lordship Lane, London, SE22 8HX@the_victory_ed Two Roosters Two Roosters founders Terence and Julien (who were both born in the year of the rooster, hence the name), have been celebrating their Malaysian and Singaporean roots, and their love for Hainanese chicken rice, since starting the brand from a Swiss Cottage market stall in 2024. Now the pair have taken things permanent and opened a kitchen inside Old Spitalfields Market. Authentic Hainanese chicken rice – poached chicken with fragrant rice, cucumber, chilli lime sauce and ginger scallion sauce – is the Two Roosters signature but you can also get the chicken roasted, or swap it out for tofu. There are sides of iceberg lettuce, beansprout salad, and golden eggs if you wanna pimp your mains. Opened May 2026Unit 2D Lamb Street, London, E1 6EAtworoosters.co.uk Arcade Covent Garden After two massive openings in Tottenham Court Road (in 2022) and Battersea Power Station (in 2023), Arcade Food Hall has opened a third London location, and it's not too far from the original. Some familiar kitchens from the other sites have made the move over, including Manna, Solis, Gracey's and Hero, with new brands like Studio Coffee and Pablos Taqueria making their debut. There are also two standalone restaurants, another branch of Plaza Khao Gaeng and the new Greek-Cypriot spot Zylia is on the way. Opened May 20266 Bedford St, London WC2E 9HZ@arcadelondon Kiez Kebab The space that used to house contemporary ocakbasi restaurant The Counter, run by Turkish chef Kemal Demirasal, has turned into the Berlin-inspired Kiez Kebab. Named after the Berlin term for a neighbourhood, Kiez Kebab is a casual spot, decked out with steel, glass, concrete and walnut interiors and a bespoke sound system. The menu is tight, focused around veal, chicken and vegan kebabs served in pide. Veal is paired with fennel, red cabbage, tomato, red onion, cucumber and parsley, and the chicken kebab comes with Gemüsekebap-style fried courgettes and aubergines, cucumber, tomato, diced white onion and parsley. The drinks list is similarly curated, featuring cocktails curated by A Bar with Shapes for a Name, German and Austrian beers, and wines. Opened May 2026108 Golborne Rd, London W10 5RZ@kiezkebab Banquet 88 The team behind dim sum spots Good Fortune Club (in Wimbledon and Ealing) and Tao Tao Ju (in Chinatown) has gone east for its next venture. Banquet 88, open in St Katharine Docks, has space for 140 covers inside, with a private dining area and great views over the water. It’s promising a premium Cantonese dining experience with “traditional big table, big menu dining” with lots of fresh handmade dim sum, whole Peking duck, roast suckling pig, and prime seafood, so its perfect for a large family feast. Opened May 2026Unit 2, Commodity Quay, St Katherine’s Docks, E1W 1AZbanquet88.com Kawan Uncle Roger, aka Nigel NG, has built a 5-million-strong following for roasting people’s (including Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay) fried rice dishes, and now he’s showing us how it should be done by opening his own restaurant. Nigel already has experience in the restaurant biz – he has a number of branches of FUIYOH! It’s Uncle Roger in Malaysia – but Kawan is first UK opening, and he’s teaming up with Keng Yew (co-founder of YiQi, San Hao, Dozo and The Eight) and Executive Chef Daren Liew (Nanyang Blossom, San Hao, Duddels and Hakkasan Group) to bring it to life. The 60-cover spot in Chinatown is relaxed and informal, and the pan-Asian menu follows a similar vibe. Rather than focusing on regional authenticity, the food showcases Asian techniques and flavours adapted for British produce and tastes, with dishes like Sarawak Pepper Belly Delight; Chinatown Fried Rice; Hainanese Chicken Chop; Crispy Puff Chicken Wellington; and Wasabi Boom Boom Sausage. Opened May 202612 Macclesfield Street, London W1D 5BPkawanlondon.co.uk All Roads After running sold-out supper clubs for the past three years, Malika Green and Paschelle Brown (who’ve spent time at the likes of Lai Rai, Patty & Bun, Daddy Bao and Soho House) have found a bricks-and-mortar space for All Roads in Brixton. Open on Atlantic Road, the 35-cover restaurant (plus more space on the terrace) is designed to be an extension of the supper club; a real neighbourhood spot centred around bringing people together and fostering community over good food, with DJ sets running on the weekends. Like the supper clubs, the All Roads restaurant menu takes inspiration from the pair’s Caribbean heritage as well as their travels and their decade of experience at numerous London kitchens. That means dishes like butterbean whip with soy pecans, cherry peppers and cassava chips; torched mackerel on toast with tomato jam; fried wings marinated in sweet black tea and herbs; clams in soy and tomato sauce with parmesan; low-and-slow oxtail; pork chops with pimento peppercorn sauce and buttered apple with thyme; and seasonal cobblers, pies and house-made ice creams. Opened May 202644 Atlantic Road, London SW9 8JN@allroads_ldn Ornella After opening Roman-style spot Lupa in Highbury last year, actor Theo James, Carousel co-founder Ed Templeton and chef Naz Hassan are already onto site number two. Ornella, open on Wilton Way (on the site that was previously home to Fran’s and just a few doors down from Sally Abé’s new spot Teal), wis taking inspo from Milan, the city where Naz was raised.
