Sweeties is The Standard hotel’s new cocktail bar and it’s gonna be serving retro opulence and a list of intriguing and quite bizarre cocktails. Created by cocktail connoisseurs, Jack Sotti and Todd Austin, the menu is led by mood-boosting drinks and feel-good ingredients. That means you can expect your gin to be gut-friendly and your vodka served with mind-enhancing nootropics (to doubly take the edge off). Drinks on the list include the Frothy Boi (lacto-rhubarb, gin, raspberry, pink pepper & fermented amazake oats), the Pick Me Up (a blend of 8 adaptogenic mushrooms, brown vodka, buttery cacao & coffee), and the Crystal Healing (spirulina, pepper dulse seaweed distillate, bergamot & electrolyte-rich coconut ice).
Located on the hotel’s 10th floor, Sweeties is accessed through the red pill lift that you can see transporting guests up and down on the outside of the building. Inside, the bar has been designed with elements of new wave glamour – ochre velvet sofas, ruched leather banquettes, mirrored tables and a huge mirror ball – that complement the 1970s brutalism of The Standard. And you’ll want to keep your eye on the line-up of DJs set to be taking over Sweeties’ custom-made Funktion-one sound system for that final dose of disco.
