NATIONAL THEATRE ANNOUNCES 2020/21 SEASON

The National Theatre has announced its 2020/21 season and it’s a bumper programme – with the Olivier, Lyttleton and Dorfman theatres inside they’ve got the space to pack the shows in. The big ones to look out for are Kate Tempest’s Paradise, an adaptation of Sophocles’s drama Philoctetes starring Lesley Sharp; the return of the sell-out Small Island; a new version of Phaedra with Kristen Scott-Thomas making her NT debut; The Corn is Green starring Nicola Walker; and Standing at the Sky’s Edge, a musical with songs by Richard Hawley that premiered in Sheffield last year.

These are just some of the new shows joining previously announced productions of Wuthering Heights from Emma Rice and Romeo & Juliet with Josh O’Connor and Jessie Buckley. Tickets for many of the newbies go on sale on 13th March, so mark your calendars.

In the meantime, check what’s on at the theatre right now right here.
