After popping up at Passo back in 2019, Nancy Silverton is coming back to London and this time it’s permanent as she’s bringing Pizzeria Mozza over from LA to the Treehouse Hotel London in Marylebone. It’s the first UK restaurant from the Chef’s Table star and she’s opening it with her Pizzeria Mozza and Osteria Mozza co-owner Joe Bastianich. A prolific winemaker himself, he’ll be overseeing the drinks list with a range of his own wines, other sustainable and organic bottles, and Italian cocktails on there.
Like the LA original, the London outpost of Pizzeria Mozza will serve up pizzas made with Nancy’s signature crusts and toppings like tomato, mozzarella di bufala, olives, anchovies & fried capers; clams, red onion, garlic & pecorino; and speck, pineapple, jalapenos, tomato & mozzarella.
Aside from the pies, the menu will also include salt cod fritti, shrimp with melon & chilli lime vinaigrette, squash blossom fritti with ricotta, salamis and mozzarella, Italian-inspired salads, daily specials for Meatless Mondays and Fish Fridays, and Nancy’s Fancy ice cream. The restaurant will also be doing a weekend brunch with dishes like torta rustica with bacon, potatoes, onions, thyme & fontina; brisket or oxtail hash al forno; and fried eggs with pork sausage, roast tomato & fried chickpeas. There may be a lot of pizza restaurants in London already but this one is going to be BIG.
