New veggie and vegan restaurant Naifs is coming to Peckham this autumn, opening on the spot where Aside used to live. Run by chef Tom Heale (formerly of Vanilla Black) and his partner Anne Stokes, Naifs – named after an old French word that means naive to reflect the ideas of newness and greenness – will serve up a bistro-style menu, with a few fine dining touches thrown in for good measure.
That means you can expect dishes like potato rosti with smoked apple, mustard and cheese; koji roasted celeriac with tomato salsa and remoulade; plum pavlova with cream and honey meringue; and almond & barley ice cream sandwich with fennel, caramel and blackberries. The wine list will feature natural and biodynamic bottles and fellow Peckham residents Brick Brewery will be providing the beers.
