If you’re absolutely gagging for a seaside getaway, you won’t have to go very far to get one because the beach is coming to The Berkeley this April. The Knightsbridge hotel is taking inspo from the seafronts of Whitstable and Southwold and installing a set of rainbow coloured beach huts on its terrace. The menu is on theme too with seaside benedicts and smoked salmon & caviar flatbreads for breakfast; plaice butties and brioche lobster rolls and lunch; and oysters, grilled langoustines, baked scallops, seafood platters, grilled sea trout and sea bass with fries, and even ‘gourmet 99s’ on offer come the evening.
The huts seat six people and there’s a £500 minimum spend (excluding service) so it’s not gonna be a cheap little escape, but if you haven’t got 500 smackers to drop the beach hut menu will also be available across the rest of the outside tables. Oh we do like to be beside the seaside….
