He went around the world in the 80 days and now Mr Fogg is coming to Mayfair with a brand new bar. Mr Fogg’s Apothecary, opening opposite Claridge’s, will showcase all the potions, elixirs, tonics and remedies that Phileas Fogg collected on his epic voyage. Of course it’s going to look the part, with a well-stocked long bar; a drawing-room filled with grandfather clocks, armchairs, sofas, and curiosity cabinets; and an Elixir Room with 24 Hennessy cabinets in which regulars can keep their own bottles of spirits.
The cocktail menu is just as theatrical, with serves including The Traveller’s Tonic (Hennessy X.O. Cognac, Woodford Reserve Rye whiskey, Carpano Antica Formula vermouth, Grand Marnier & Mr Fogg’s Apothecary bitters) and the Rose Remedy (Secret Garden Apothecary Rose gin, Lillet Blanc, Apothecary shrub, rose water, lime juice & egg white).
