MORE RESTAURANTS ARE JOINING ELEPHANT PARK
It’s all change in Elephant & Castle, thanks in no small part to Elephant Park, the massive regeneration project being run by Southwark Council and Lendlease. As well thousands of new homes across the Zone 1 development, on completion the area will also have 50 new shops, restaurants and cafes. Some operators have already opened, including vegan Ethiopian spot Beza, Caribbean restaurant Tasty Jerk, tonkotsu joint Koi Ramen and Pan-Asian concept Pot & Rice.
Now more restaurants have been confirmed for this spring – one is Miko’s, the Ecuadorian restaurant that used to be located inside the Elephant & Castle shopping centre, and the other is a sister site for the Camberwell Lebanese restaurant Bayroot. Italian street food trader Sugo and burger joint Bobo Social are also both opening in the development, alongside the MM Factory, a sustainable dining experience and social hub from the Mercato Metropolitano team. It’s going to be a few years yet until the entire Elephant Park project is completed, so expect to see plenty more openings in that time.
