Yes those famous salt beef sarnies are coming east this April as Mark Ogus and Owen Barratt have found Monty’s Deli a permanent home in Hoxton, after years on a stall at Druid Street Market. As well as the signature sandwiches, the new place will be serving up bagels, chocolate babkas, and cold cut platters for lunch, with whole joints of pastrami and salt beef, slow braised brisket and chicken soup appearing on the evening menu alongside a ‘L’chaim’ drinks list. We’ve got one eye on the calendar and the other on one of those epic Reuben Specials.
