Yourholiday wardrobe just got a whole lot easy to buy! You can throw out your faded old bikini and (sun) creamed shorts and embrace the fruits of East London based Lynnie Zulu’s first collection in collaboration with Monki. Lynnie Zulu grew up on the Scottish Border and described the place as having ‘Not much culture of even people around’. Zulu’s mother, who is also an artist, provided a world of inspiration. Growing up in Tanzania, her mother’s life was full of stories and relics and of course…colour.
The eclectic Swedish brand and Zulu have created a ‘refreshing dip into the summer of 2015’, featuring three prints of tropical visuals and mystifying characters, they take you on a visual journey – the more you look, the more you see! The watermelon tones of one print are perfect for poolside drinking and a multi-layered print of feminine faces creates a graffiti effect and looks great on pretty much every piece. Speaking of pieces…if you’re a fan of the two-piece, this is the collaboration for you. With over 15 matching styles – mix and match, pick and mix because it’s brilliantly BONKERS!
Zulu says, “The collection is completely wild…I love it. Our ideas have harmonised really well and produced a refreshing outcome. I aim to spend my summer by the pool in that printed two-piece!” And she’s not wrong, we can sense a long-term friendship for these two. Girls on Tour! Look out for them in the aisle of an Easyjet flight near you soon.
