MODERN PALESTINIAN RESTAURANT AKUB IS COMING TO NOTTING HILL

French-Palestinian chef and hotelier Fadi Kattan, who runs Fawda in Bethlehem’s Old City where he celebrates the ingredients and flavours of Palestine in a modern way, is coming to London to open Akub. Named after the Arabic word for Fadi’s favourite vegetable (it’s cardoon in English), Akub will be taking over the spot where Malabar used to be in Notting Hill and we can expect a similar style of food, made using the best seasonal British produce as well as from Palestine.

Fadi’s menu will include dishes like:

  • nigella seed crackers & Akub foccacia with labneh balls & red lentil moutabal
  • maftoul salad
  • arak cured sea bream
  • freekeh risotto
  • vine leaves stuffed with skate
  • Dead Sea chocolate cake
  • Bethlehem knafeh

The cocktail list will also showcase ingredients from Palestine, like arak and apricot paste, and the restaurant’s internal courtyard will be filled with olive trees and jasmine to bring the sights and smells of the country to West London.

Opens Mon 16th December 2022
27 Uxbridge Street, London W8 7TQ
