There’s a new cocktail bar and tea house coming to Stokey and it’s run by Richard Hunt, a three-time International Bartender of the Year champ and the man who’s been in charge of the booze at Hawksmoor, Milk & Honey and Mahiki. The Mint Gun Club is inspired by Rich’s travels so everything about the place will have an international flavour, including the decor, which is a mixture of Scandi styling, Moroccan tiling and Indonesian palms. The tea menu will showcase single-origin and rare teas from across the globe, with tonics, sodas and lassis completing the softie options. The cocktail menu is divided into four sections – gimlets, aperitifs, tonics and night-caps – and there are some pretty unusual flavour combos going on, like tarragon & coconut wine, fino sherry and peach bitters in the Bamboo aperitif. There’s also a short pantry-style food menu, again drawing on tastes from around the world, with a range of dips, flatbreads, salsas and salads…you can even buy some to take home too. Stokey may already be home to fair few bars but the Mint Gun Club sounds bangin’.
