Mimosa is Taking the Place of Roux at The Landau at The Langham

Mimosa is bringing the French Riviera is to the famous London hotel in 2024

After Michel Roux Jr announced that Roux at The Landau, just one of the chef’s outlets at The Langham, was to close permanently (it has been shut since the pandemic), we’ve been wondering what would take the restaurant’s place. Now we know it’ll be the first international outpost of Mimosa, the Riviera-inspired restaurant from the Moma Group, who have form in London having just opened a branch of Café Lapérouse at the OWO.

The original Mimosa, located in the Hotel de La Marine in Paris, is headed up by chef Jean-François Piège and is a celebration of the flavours of the Mediterranean, with dishes like ouefs mimosa, red tuna with a Mediterranean marinade, salad niçoise, grilled langoustines with sauce vierge, stuffed baked vegetables and veal chop with roast potatoes on the menu. The signature egg mimosa will be on offer in a variety of ways at The Langham, alongside the likes of Brittany blue lobster with aioli, grilled octopus, chickpeas and coriander, and veal paillard with riquette, tomato and olives.

We’re also being promised ‘whimsical interiors’ at the London restaurant, with an adjoining garden terrace that’ll be open to diners during the spring and summer – here’s hoping they can bring some of that famous Côte d’Azur sunshine over too.
