MEXICAN-JAPANESE RESTAURANT LOS MOCHIS OPENS IN NOTTING HILL

Mexico meets Japan in Notting Hill at Los Mochis, the new spot from restaurateur Markus Thesleff, who’s been behind some big openings in the UAE. It bills itself as having a ‘Pan-Pacific’ menu but Los Mochis leans more into the Mexican side of things when it comes to the food and draws inspo from ‘Japanese elegance’ instead, although it does serve maki rolls and sashimi, and Asian ingredients are peppered across the other dishes.

The bulk of the menu is taken up by a ‘gangster taco’ selection featuring multiple takes on the dish, including miso black cod, pork al pastor, Korean fried chicken, carne asada, and poached lobster & chilli butter versions, alongside a range of guacamoles, tiraditos, ceviches and tostadas. The drinks list continues the theme with Mexican and Japanese beers, sakes, tequilas, mezcals, and cocktails like the Los Mochis Tommy’s Margarita and the Shingo Negroni with Nikka Days whisky & plum sake. Los Mochis is also running a giving back project where they donate a meal to local charities for everyone purchased in the restaurant so you can do some good by tucking into some sushi and tacos.
