MEDITERRANEAN PIZZA RESTAURANT GALLIO TO OPEN IN CANARY WHARF

After launching a delivery service during lockdown, Mediterranean pizza restaurant Gallio is opening its first bricks-and-mortar venue, complete with sunshine colours and an olive tree, in Canary Wharf this December. With 18-hour proved dough made from grains that are packed with antioxidants as well as being high in protein and fibre, Gallio is doing things a bit differently when it comes to pizza. The same goes for the Mediterranean toppings, which include marinated artichoke hearts with sun-dried tomatoes, kalamata olives & mozzarella; spiced lamb with labneh, rose harissa, guindilla peppers & fresh mint; and aubergine with house pickles, signature red sauce, fire- roasted piquillo peppers, za’atar & wild rocket.

Gallio aren’t stopping at pizzas either, bringing even more of the Med to Canary Wharf with dishes like whipped beetroot borani; lamb meatballs with mint & yoghurt; crispy halloumi with za’atar & spicy yoghurt; fully loaded flatbreads; and Mediterranean bowls packed with grains, veggies, and toppings like Moroccan spiced chicken, lamb kofte, roasted aubergine & pesto-rissa salmon. They’re even doing brunches and with plenty of vegan and gluten-free options on the menu, there really is something for everyone. The same goes for the drinks list – with beers, wines, juices, smoothies and cocktails like the Sicilian Sunshine (Malfy Gin, lemon, orange & cardamom) and the Hibiscus Mojo (Havana Rum, hibiscus, cucumber & lemon soda), you’re spoilt for choice.

To celebrate the opening, on 8th and 9th December they’ll be giving away 200 FREE pizzas. Now that’s worth venturing out for. Come the New Year, you can also bag 50% off any pizza from Monday 10th – Sunday 16th January, the perfect antidote for any post-Christmas blues. Gallio will be available on Deliveroo too from 13th December.

Opens Mon 6th December 2021, 11.30am – 8pm
