MATCHA IS COMING AT YA

It seems matcha is having another moment as two new cafes dedicated to the green superfood have arrived in town within a week of each other. Both are offering an alternative to the coffee shop, serving healthy and energy boosting food and drinks, and yes, there’s lots of green decor too.

How Matcha!, now open in Marylebone, has a whole range of hot and iced superfood-packed bevvies on offer including matcha bubble tea, the Immune (matcha, cinnamon, ginger, turmeric, matcha honey & bee pollen), the Radiant (pitaya, rose water, collagen & milk), the Indulge (matcha, white chocolate & matcha whipped cream) and matcha lemonade with pineapple & white peach. They’ve also got matcha-infused cakes and pastries on the menu plus avo & matcha honey-topped sourdough toasts.

JENKI, opening in Spitalfields, will be serving up a whole range of matcha-infused drinks like rose & collagen lattes, black tahini & charcoal shakes, yuzu & mint sodas, and signature Flat Greens, their take on the flat white. Food-wise, you’ll be able to chow down on egg miso mayo sandos, kimchi sourdough toasties, raw matcha cheesecake, and matcha soft serve with miso caramel sauce. By night, JENKI will turn into a contemporary cocktail bar – no word yet how many green drinks will be on the evening menu.
