There’s
a new kid on the East London block and if last night’s trial run is anything to go by it looks like it’s going to be a winner. The cafe set to open Wednesday 29th February has a 1950’s inspired menu featuring simple Italian dishes. Last night we went along to a “hard hat” night and sampled some of the food and beverages on offer. The cafe will serve prosseco on tap – they had us at that to be honest, small plates and larger sharing dishes. We sampled the East London Cup which is served in a pitcher for two – a mixture of campari, gin, grapefruit juice and soda garnished with grapefruit, mint and cucumber.
The highlight was definitely the food, a simple Buffalo Mozzerallo salad was followed by Rotolo, a spinach and mushroom canelloni style dish and Handcut tagliatelle with meat sauce – the meat sauce consisted of Pork marinated in milk and herbs; simple yet effective, definitely our favourite dish to hit the tables.
From what we here the prices with be reasonable and during the soft launch there will be 50% off on Weds 29th Feb with evening bookings 0207 249 9070. We have a feeling we’ll be regulars here…
