MARE STREET MARKET IS OPENING IN KING’S CROSS

The London Fields fave is expanding into North London with a huge new site

With a deli, restaurant, casual kitchen and bar, record store, florist and barbers all under one roof, Mare Street Market has become a regular haunt for East Londoners, and now the team is hoping to replicate that in King’s Cross with a massive new second site.

Located just outside Coal Drops Yard, next to Lightroom (currently home to the immersive David Hockney exhibition), Mare Street Market King’s Cross will be split over two levels and boast 70% more space than the original Hackney site. We don’t know exactly what the set-up will be inside yet but we do know that there’ll be eight retailers involved, a cafe and co-working space, a deli, a restaurant and bar, and that there’ll be indoor and outdoor seating for up to 700 covers.

Marc Francis-Baum, Founder of Barworks, which owns Mare Street Market, has said about the expansion, “as a creative and vibrant corner of London, I can’t think of a better home for our second Mare Street Market. This space will be a gathering point for everyone in the King’s Cross community, whether that’s grabbing a coffee over a morning meeting, finding a record you can’t source anywhere else or catching up al fresco on a sunny evening with friends. This is a real opportunity to create a unique and magical place where anyone can meet, work, eat, drink, shop and enjoy life.”
