SEAFOOD RESTAURANT MANZI’S TO OPEN IN SOHO

The restaurant, which has been in the works since before the pandemic, is finally ready to open

The Wolseley Hospitality Group, owners of the Delaunay, The Wolseley, Bellanger, Soutine and Brasserie Zedel, is reincarnating Manzi’s, the great seafood restaurant that used to be in Leicester Square, this summer. Manzi’s 2.0 will be quite the venue, taking over two floors of an old 1950s office building in the pedestrian-only Bateman’s Buildings alley, and featuring a mural from Hemingway’s The Old Man and the Sea and a full size wall-mounted marlin taxidermy in the lobby and mermaids, mermen and other nautical embellishments throughout the space.

The menu will have plenty to excite seafood fans, with dishes including:

  • moules marinière
  • stuffed calamari in tomato sauce
  • Dover sole
  • fried violet artichokes with sauce gribiche
  • seafood cocktails
  • New York shrimp burger with spiced mayo
  • Severn & Wye smoked eel with horseradish cream
  • monkfish wellington with prawn mousse & fill beurre blanc
  • cioppino fish stew with grilled sourdough & rouille

In a nod to the old Manzi’s, there’ll be some of the restaurant’s classic cocktails on the drinks list as well as new signatures like the Mediterranean Mary (with vodka, golden tomato juice, colatura di alici, wine vinegar, dijon mustard, oloroso sherry & tabasco), the Manzi’s Seabreeze (with vodka, cranberry juice, pomegranate juice, manzanilla sherry, clarified grapefruit juice & crémant rosé) and the Sgroppino (with crémant de loire, aqua di cedro & blackcurrant sorbet). AHOY!

Opens Thurs 29th June 2023
