London isn’t short of monster sandwiches but we’re about to get a whole lot more as Mamma Pastrama opens in Carnaby this September. Big pastrami sarnies will be the name of the game, with co-founder and exec chef Jay Morjaria creating a range of twists on the classic deli sandwich. You’ll be able to get his cured, spiced, hop-smoked and steamed pastrami, made using a special rub technique, in the Classic Pastrami with deli mustard, saukerkraut & rye bread; in the BigMammaMelt, with smoked chicken, bacon, mustard & pickled onions on toasted sourdough; and in the Pastrami & Kimchi Toastie, with spicy kimchi slaw & three cheese mix. Veggies won’t be left out either with the Beet Reuben – spiced & smoked beetroot, sauerkraut & Russian dressing on rye.

There’ll be even more pastrami in the sides, including pastrami popcorn, pastrami burnt ends, poutine with pastrami bits and smoked pastrami sausage with curry ketchup, and in the brekkie dishes, like corned beef pastrami hash & eggs. Mamma Pastrama will also be serving craft beers from BOXCAR, softies from Square Root and coffee from Origin Coffee Roasters. There’ll be 100 Reubens and Beet Reubens for just £1 up for grabs on opening day, and if you miss out on that you can score 25% OFF food until 13th October.
