The team behind Covent Garden coffee shop Abuelo is heading to Greenwich to open Mama Fuego. The all-day drinking and dining spot, with a 60s/70s design feel, will be taking up residence in the The Tide, the new riverside linear park on the Greenwich Peninsula.
Like Abuelo, Mama Fuego will be a mix of Aussie and South American influences, with a bakery, a milk bar (serving coffee, cakes, soft serve ice cream and Aussie treats like Tim Tams), a 70-seater dining room with an open kitchen (serving Australian-style food and featuring an edible flower farm), and a tap room bar with its own gin distillery.
And if that wasn’t enough, the space will also feature a sunken lounge and “conversation pit” complete with a suspended fireplace, and a garden terrace with a parrilla for summer BBQing action.
