Maene, the new Spitalfields spot from Townsend owner Nick Gilkinson, is taking Sunday brunch to new heights with its new Sunday Side Up guest chef series. On various Sundays throughout the autumn and winter, each chef will work with Nick and the Maene team to put their own spin on some of the restaurant’s signature dishes, like the gnocco fritto and the Cornish mussels, while also creating a handful of exclusive plates for the occasion. There’ll also be special cocktails to pair with the food and the chefs will even be choosing the music that soundtracks the day.
The series kicks off with Dom Fernando of Paradise on 15th October, and then continues with:
- Akwasi Brenya-Mensa, creator of Tatale, on 29th October
- Decatur, Southern food purveyors, on 12th November
- Nargisse Benkabbou, chef and author, on 26th November
- Freddie Janssen, owner of Snackbar, on 3rd December
