LYON’S SEAFOOD & WINE BAR TO OPEN

The people of Crouch End are about to get very lucky indeed as Lyon’s Seafood & Wine Bar is opening in the neighbourhood this month. With Anthony Lyon (who’s worked front of house at Hix and The Wolseley) and head chef Talia Prince (formerly of Le Gavroche and the Fat Duck) in charge, we’ve got high hopes for this place. Lyon’s will be serving sustainable seafood from around the UK, with dishes like chilled and roasted shellfish platters, whole roasted fish of the day, side of Var salmon with mustard glaze, miso fish collars with seaweed butter, and scallop roe taramasalata with fish skin crisps. Oysters will also feature, with each variety being paired with a different garnish, like melon and cucumber salsa with Carlingfords and hazelnut and lettuce puree with Ostra Regals.

The focus of the wine list is sustainable, organic, biodynamic and low-intervention bottles with Ambriel (Sussex) and Renegade (Bethnal Green) both represented as well producers from further afield. There’ll also be a handful of cocktails made using small-batch spirits and local craft beer on offer too.

In the mood for seafood? These are our fave places to get it.
