Lyaness, the award-winning bar from Ryan Chetiyawardana aka Mr Lyan, has teamed up with Hoppers to create a spesh Sri Lankan-inspired afternoon tea, available every weekend thoughout July at Sea Containers. The menu includes curry leaf cashews; scones with pineapple & black pepper jam; short eats like tuna fricadels, mutton rolls and pumpkin curry puffs served with hot sauce and chutneys; sandwiches like Ceylon tea cured salmon with cucumber, dill & turmeric cream cheese and curried egg with Jaffna curry mayo, crispy shallots & pickled mustard; and sweets like buffalo curd panacotta with milk toffee crumble & smoked Kimbula Kithul, pandan & coconut profiteroles; and mango, fennel seed & passion fruit curd tart.
The Lyaness team have shaken up three cocktails to go with all that – the Arrack Sour, the Kandalama Fizz and the Kithul Negroni – with the full tea coming in at £55 (you can get it with champagne for £45 or boozeless for £35 too).
